VISTAA provides assistance through individual consultancies with clients and through competitive contracts from funding agencies and private enterprises. VISTAA’s pool of local specialists currently is in excess of 170. Many of these experts have implemented repeat or expanded activities and projects for many years, because they know how to work effectively with clients in coordination with local authorities.
Since its creation VISTAA has implemented over 300 assignments (Click on PROJECTS to learn more.) in natural resources management, agricultural training, crop and livestock production, food production and marketing. A significant portion of VISTAA’s projects introduce new products and technologies and provide trainings and workshops for farmers, processors and entrepreneurs.
VISTAA approach to improving the lives in rural communities is simple and straight forward. We embrace the beneficiaries as partners from the beginning. We start from their knowledge, skills, and resource base as well as their aspirations for a better life.
VISTAA gains an understanding of what their situation is today and the main issues and constraints to improving their situations. Next, VISTAA, with its partner communities, identifies opportunities and develops a self-help road map for how to get their goal. All of these procedures are done with the active participation of community members. They propose solutions to their problems, which are formulated professionally and given appropriate recommendations. VISTAA uses a holistic approach to the community development issues, which means addressing agricultural, as well as social and environmental problems facing the community. This holistic approach makes VISTAA’s work stand out from the rest. |
