Support in development and implementation of MIPs:
Institutional Assessment → Management Improvement Plan development → MIP based Detailed Action Plan development → Consultations on how to implement the Detailed Action Plan.

Trainings/Consultations: Consultations have been initially planned as the assistance to the WUAs and WSAs to revise their institutional capacities, elaborate Management Improvement Plans (MIP) and fulfill the tasks set in MIPs through the development and implementation of detailed Action Plans. Besides, the team has also set a target of improving the general level of communication and information awareness amongst the WUAs, WSAs and other major players in the field of Irrigation Management in Armenia. The Consultations are held on a set schedule (this needs to become a link, which opens the Consultation Schedules) and two levels: intensive – for two selected large-scale schemes (8 WUAs and 1 WSA on two irrigation systems) and less intensive – for the remaining 36 WUAs and 2 WSAs.

International Study tours: there are two study tours planned within the framework of the project with the participation of different stakeholders. The first one was implemented in August 2010, to California to visit WUAs, Federations, farmers, agriculture and processing facilities. The main objective was to understand how the irrigation sector of California is organized and to learn what improvements can be made for the irrigation sector in Armenia.

Provision of New Equipment and Software: Needs assessment → Development of milestones → Ongoing Consultations → Achievement of milestones by the WUAs and WSAs → Delivery of the first package of equipment.
